Google Street View brings out the essence of that age-old adage, "so near yet so far". Through this wondrous invention, I'm along the Thames on Westminster bridge, looking at the London Eye. I have done this in reverse before — in Year 2 I used to squint at the Eiffel Tower webcam I had on iGoogle, watching the lights come on, all gold and sparkly.
