Space for Rent
So yeah, I know I'm meant to blog about my first week (and a half) in Copenhagen, complete with the requisite pictures of smiling faces, magnificant architecture and all, yes. But this is much more urgent, because I need help — I need to know whether I should try repairing my room's door handle myself. I know, sounds ridiculous to me too, but yeah here's what happened.
Sometime last week, one morning, while I was rushing out for danish class, I kinda got stuck in my room. Like the door wouldn't happened. So of course, I used a little bit of strength. And tada, the door handle broke. Which means that now, I can't shut my door fully, because I'll get locked in. Nice, yes. And therefore, I've to get it repaired.
I have 2 options — (1) get the handyman or (2) buy a new one from a DIY store and try and fix it myself. Shit this is damn auntie but well, the whole issue is about the ridiculous cost of getting a handyman in Copenhagen which may run up to quite a few hundred bucks. Just to repair one goddamn flimsy door handle! :/ Which is ridiculous in my opinion. And so the second option of buying a door knob and fitting it in myself seems like an attractive one, after reading wiki-how. The thing is, I'll probably encounter problems when buying the correct one that fits my door and when affixing it. And if I fail, I will have to get the handyman, roar.
If you can't fly over to help me, at least give me some suggestions please, friends, to help me tide over my first housing crisis here in Copenhagen!
